THE VISION OF QLOCKTWO

With energy and heart and soul, we at QLOCKTWO work down to the smallest detail to create time objects with artistic aspirations that fill rooms with their exceptionality, high quality and forward-looking design. The idea of living in the moment and consolidating this conscious experience through the design of time in words touches people and creates a new sense of time. "Art is always created by feelings. Without feelings there is no art!", says Andreas Funk and thus sums up what QLOCKTWO embodies: A NEW SENSE OF TIME.

WHAT IS TIME?

"What is time?" - This question has puzzled mankind for thousands of years. And indeed, the concept of time, divided into day, month and year, as we know it, is an invention of mankind, based on observations on our planet and our solar system. Time is therefore a cultural achievement that not only provides orientation, but also creates solidarity and community. In exploring this fascinating topic, the artists Biegert & Funk have created the QLOCKTWO UNIVERSE: a unique three-part work of art, a triptych that celebrates time in an unmistakable way.

TRYPTICHON

The QLOCKTWO UNIVERSE began with the EARTH - an art object that represents the 24 hours of a day using language on a word matrix. Its conception was the starting point for an extraordinary journey that has now reached its next climax with the MOON. This second work of art by Biegert & Funk is dedicated to the month, or more precisely to the phases of the moon, which people have always used for orientation within a series of days. In a lunar cycle from full moon to full moon, the MOON's time display rotates 28 times and shows exactly how the moon can be seen in the starry sky. But what would our perception of time be

EARTH

The division of the day into 24 hours is only valid on Earth. If you look into the vastness of the universe, days only last a very short time or what feels like an eternity. This makes it clear that time as we know it is a cultural achievement created by humans. It could never have established itself without language, because language is at the heart of our perception of time. Without it, we would not be able to make appointments or tell others what time it is.

MOON

The moon has always exerted a magical attraction on mankind. As a faithful companion of the earth, it helps people to find their bearings within a series of days. As a radiant celestial body, it is the protagonist of countless stories. Seen from anywhere on our planet, it presents itself in the same phase of the moon, creating a connection between people across national borders and cultures.

In addition to the day and the month, the course of a year also has a special meaning for us humans - it is not without reason that we celebrate the turn of the year with great festivities in almost all cultures. As the final piece in Biegert & Funk's Gesamtkunstwerk, the SUN is dedicated to the year and thus completes the QLOCKTWO UNIVERSE. You can look forward to it.

"The more you try to grasp time, the more it actually disappears. In the end, all that remains is to simply perceive the moment as a big 'now'."
